JEDDAH: The Czech Consulate in Jeddah, in cooperation with Jeddah Intercontinental Hotel, opened the 4th Czech food festival on Sunday.
Consulate representatives Ali Hussein Shobokshi and Khalid Hussein Shobokshi inaugurated the five-day festival, that provides traditional Czech cuisine and enhance cultural ties between the two countries.
Ali Hussein told Arab News it is important to introduce new cultures to Saudi society to expand its horizons.
“Food is always a great vessel to introduce cultures... It can break down barriers,” he said,.
Khalid Hussein said the consulate wants to bring the Czech and Saudi communities together, which will help enhance trade and investment opportunities.
The festival includes dishes such as duck with red cabbage and dumplings, beef with vegetable sauce and mushroom cream, Carlsbad dumplings with herbs, chicken roulade with rosemary sauce and grilled fillet trout with herbs and butter.
